In June 2004, when Eaton completed its global acquisition of Powerware from Invensys, the New Delhi based facilities of Powerware were also integrated into Eaton’s India operations.

Today, Eaton’s Electrical business in India is geared up to provide power distribution, power quality and back-up, control and automation, power monitoring and management solutions and services to commercial, residential, utility, alternative energy, IT and data centers, public sector institutional and OEMs.

Eaton’s commitment to the Indian market has been solidified by the booming Telecom and IT enabled services market and the tremendous infrastructure growth in India. Eaton’s Electrical business in India consistently meets the demands of today’s economy with its comprehensive line of products and solutions. Headquartered in New Delhi, Eaton today has sales offices in nine cities across India and a contract manufacturing facility at Manesar near Delhi.

In November 2012 Eaton completed the acquisition of electrical equipment supplier Cooper Industries plc. As part of this acquisition two manufacturing locations of Cooper in Pondicherry and Chennai are being integrated into Eaton’s India operations.

Power Quality
Eaton’s presence in the Indian electrical sector primarily started off with the power quality business. Eaton is a leader in UPS systems – powering both small businesses and large facilities like industrial facilities and data centers. Eaton’s suite of power conditioning products boasts a wide spectrum of industry-leading features. Our DC Power system products are being used in telecom sector extensively.

Power Distribution
In our Power Distribution business, we provide comprehensive solutions helping customers generate, distribute and consume electrical power safely, reliably and efficiently. The Cooper Bussmann manufacturing facility at Pondicherry manufactures high voltage fuses, high speed fuses, low voltage bus fuses, solar fuses, low voltage din type fuses, expulsion links, fuse holders, PV combiner boxes. The Cooper Crouse Hinds facility in Chennai manufactures intrinsic safety barriers and isolators, distributed i/os for hazardous area applications, fieldbus barrier components.
